YSFPB and PBSC pull 319.9 pounds of trash from Intra Coastal Waterway - June 2016

YSFPB partnered with the Palm Beach Sailing Club and Lagoon Keepers to clean up our Lake Worth Lagoon.  25 volunteers focused on 2 areas of the intracoastal waterway; the South Cove Islands off Flagler Drive in downtown WPB, and the shoreline south of the Port of Palm Beach.  319.9 pounds of trash was collected and removed from the waterway.  "It was an eye opening experience".  Many thanks to PBSC, Lagoon Keepers and our volunteers.  Thanks also to Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful for providing clean-up supplies and advice.

Open High School Sailing (OHSS) included in Annual PBSC George Washington Regatta - February 2017

In an effort to provide more racing opportunities for area high school sailors, PBSC included Collegiate 420 class in this long running annual small boat regatta.  3 teams from Oxbridge Academy and 2 teams from Vero Beach completed 4 races on a beautiful and breezy Sunday afternoon.

LOTS of bottles, styrofoam, plastic bags/wrappers and wood debris collected from the small beaches along the waterway. Big Thanks to Palm Beach Sailing Club, Palm Beach Atlantic University - PBA, The Greene School, and Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, Inc. for support and supplies.
This was our 3rd Cleanup project in the Lake Worth Lagoon.  Next cleanup scheduled in conjunction with Earth Day in April 2018.

Wade Waddell returns to PBSC to coach young Opti sailors at Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta - December 2015

Taking a break from a busy college sailing season and international competition, it was great to see Wade giving back to a program that got him started in Opti sailing.  In addition to providing tons of technical and strategic coaching, he was a great role model for our young sailors on and off the water.   Thanks Wade.

Proceeds from Fall Festival Regatta fundraising used to acquire OPTI Trailer and Blade Bags - February 2017

PBSC Sail Team came together for a great regatta, family cookout and fund raising raffle.  Proceeds from the event were used to acquire an OPTI Trailer to safely get our team boats around the State for regattas.  We also purchased Blade Bags for our Laser & 420 sailors to protect their equipment while traveling.  Thanks to all that participated.
